    WOW. You are the most excellent teacher. No nonsense, great editing. Now do videos on everything else so I can understand the world. This was awesome. I was expecting long winded "Now, back in my day..." or "here at Such 'N' Such Company, we..." nonsense and got this instead. Thanks!

    You didn't mention anything about a rivet's grip range, the thickness of the panels being riveted together versus the rivet's length.

    On my very first gun, first time taking it apart I stripped a screw BAD and I of course being my first got frustrated and made it worse, thank god for these kits… was able to replace the screw even though it was really small. Lucky that it was semi soft steel.

    Great instructions (and thanks for not using any background music or a long intro!)! Question: Why do you run water through the machine first?

    • @Caliber8Tools
      @Caliber8Tools 5 днів тому

      Doing this, priming, makes sure the sprayer is functioning properly. It also removes air from the machine, allows you to spot any leaks and cleans out any residue from a past paint job. Good question, glad it helped.

    So how much copper is in a portable AC? Worth scrapping?

    • @Caliber8Tools
      @Caliber8Tools 5 днів тому

      There is a good amount of copper, for example the tubing for the refrigerant and the motor winding. However you can’t scrap the refrigerant, you need an expert for that because of EPA requirements. So that cost may or may not make scrapping worth it if your trying to make money of it.

    Thank you sir! I have three caulking guns, one is rusted and not budging, the other is missing the plate, and the third one I just could not get it to engage once the tube was in. Your explanation of the ratcheting gun was just what I needed! (now if I can get it to dispense evenly rather than the big mess I made, or it doesn't dispense at all ha ha. One step at a time I guess). I like how clear you are, and you don't go too fast, which is so helpful.

    ok so what do you do if the cable will not release the lock ? my main latch is in the locked position and the cable has no more travel left in it. my last resort seems to be to cut the grill, remove the bolts holding the latch in place, which in theory should allow the entire hood to open with the latch hanging from the hood .? does that sound right...? 06 Frontier XE

    • @Caliber8Tools
      @Caliber8Tools 8 днів тому

      Sounds like it should work, if you don’t mind damaging the grill, or replacing it after.

    Excellent. My only constructive criticism is if needing to clean the coil fins, the utmost of care must be used while using a vacuum as not to damage or crush them. I'd use a soft paint brush and vacuum, never touching the fins with the vacuum head. Crushing them will greatly impeded heat transfer and as well as the efficiency/performance of the unit. Thank you for your video my friend.

    I have a problem were my exhaust air is so hot it eventually turns off when it overheats so I took a leaf blower and put it on the hot fins in the back to help and it won’t turn off the fins are clean so I don’t understand how it’s so hot

    • @Caliber8Tools

      Could be a dirty filter. Make sure there are no kinks in the exhaust hose. Coils may be dirty or clogged. Refrigerant leaks can cause overheating as well

    I just learned three things from your video. First, you can cut the tube with the hole on the side. Second, the puncture wire. Third, I didn’t know you had to puncture the caulk tube.
